Emergency Grant Aid in response to the damage caused by desert locusts in South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda

[South Sudan]

In South Sudan, there are concerns that the country will face serious food crisis due to the locusts damage in addition to the damage caused by the flood since last year. It is expected that provision of relief assistance will improve nutritional condition of approx.49,900 people.

[Sudan]

In Sudan, a large number of people are facing malnutrition due to several reasons including the locusts damage. It is expected that provision of relief assistance will improve nutritional condition of approx. 78,400 people.

[Uganda]

In Uganda, the country is facing serious food crisis especially in the eastern and north eastern part of the country, and a larger number of people will face food shortage. It is expected that provision of relief assistance will improve nutritional condition of approx.27,600 people including children aged 6-24 monthes, and pregnant and lactating women.
